Seth Bindernagel

As Director of the Localization Team at Mozilla Corporation, Seth focuses on expanding Mozilla’s impact on the web by helping localizers translate Mozilla into an ever-growing number of languages. A graduate of Cornell University, he also earned an MBA at UC Berkeley, where he focused on socially responsible business and took leadership roles in the Berkeley Net Impact Club and the Global Social Venture Competition. Seth previously worked at Davidson Capital Group and Ashoka, a global nonprofit organization that focuses on advancing the field of social entrepreneurship. He spends his spare time swimming, playing baseball and tennis, and going to live concerts.

Remember that “Think Globally, Act Locally” bumper sticker you’ve seen on hybrids and VW buses? The folks over at Mozilla have really taken the message to heart, building participatory local communities around the world. In a continuation of our occasional series on open source community building, we present a case study about scaling the localization community at Mozilla.
