Introduction to PHP

PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a cross-platform scripting language that is particularly well-suited to web development. Advanced PHP

In the second half of the week, students are introduced to advanced aspects of PHP 5 and how to best leverage its object oriented capabilities. Students learn about design patterns and review tools and techniques that contribute to best practices when developing programs using PHP.

PHP Development with CakePHP focuses on building websites with a Model-2 architecture (CakePHP) rather than a Model-1 architecture. This couse examines Object-Relational-Mapping (ORM) techniques commonly used in Object-oriented solutions. PHP Development with CakePHP also examines the CakePHP framework, including installation and configuration, as well as application deployment.
