Version 2.6 is a major release containing a hefty number of new features, improvements, and bug fixes.  Here are some of the exciting new features:

• Through a new easy to use interface, changes to any post or page can now be viewed and tracked.
• A new ‘Press This’ bookmark can be added to the toolbar and will allow posting from anywhere on the Web.
• A new theme preview feature allows the viewing of a new theme before it’s active on the site.
• Image captions can now be added under images.
• A word count feature has been added.

Some of the bug fixes include:

• Fixes to problems publishing posts with custom fields.
• Repairs to feed PHP files not displaying posts when WordPress has its own directory.
• A remedy to the paginate_links() function returning the wrong URL.
• A correction to published pages being set to private after saving.
• A fix to child pages not updating properly after deleting a parent page.
