Version 5.0.83 is a minor version with bug fixes and improvements, including:

A solution to a crash or assertion failure when stopping and restarting the slave while in process of replicating temporary tables. This problem only affected statement-based replication.
A fix to prevent a crash in mysqlbinlog when using --hexdump together with --read-from-remote-server.
A fix to prevent a server crash when performing a multiple-table DELETE involving a table self-join.
A change to allow UNCOMPRESSED_LENGTH() to return NULL and generate a warning.
A correction to the incorrect time being reported at the end of mysqldump output.
