The L2FProd.com Common Components project provides Swing widgets that are not present in Java 2 standard edition. The L2FProd.com Common Components are mostly a Swing clone of modern GUI widgets. Using these widgets can make the application look and feel more similar to Windows XP.

L2FProd.com Common Components is widely used in Java based applications, a list of those application and screen shots for them can be found at http://common.l2fprod.com/use.php.

Some of the most important widgets are:

• PropertySheet: A widget which can be used to handle properties, for each property it can accept a property editor.
• JTaskPaneGroup: It can be used along with JTaskPane to create task panels very similar to Windows XP task panel.
• JOutlookBar: Very similar to the Outlook bar in Microsoft Outlook.
• JTipOfTheDay: Use it to easily create and configure a tip of the day dialog.

Usage Notes:

This project could be used to create a neat and more native looking GUI for use in applications developed for the Windows OS. The widgets can be used in any other OS as well because they are Java-based and therefore cross-platform. Some, like font chooser and directory chooser are present in Swing but L2FProd.com Common Components provides more user friendly versions.
