GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It works on many operating systems, and in many languages.

License Notes:
As per the 2.7.x version, the license changed to GPL v3 instead of GPL v2. GIMP libraries are under LGPL v3. Also see explanation in the LICENSE.txt file for further clarification re: what constitutes a "mere aggregation" according to the GIMP developers.

The GIMP application core, and other portions of the official GIMP distribution not explicitly licensed otherwise, are licensed under the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE -- see the 'COPYING' file in this directory for details.

'libgimp' and the other GIMP libraries are licensed under the GNU LESSER GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE -- see the 'COPYING' file in the libgimp directory for details.

Usage Notes:

Use GIMP for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.
