Description:

The Basic Analysis and Security Engine (BASE) analyzes the alerts from a Snort IDS system. The BASE interface displays summaries of:

  • Alerts
  • Sensors
  • Traffic profiles

Its tools can query and view detailed information from Snort, and allow for administrative control.

Usage Notes:

With a user authentication and role-based system, BASE allows the security administrator to control how much information each user can see. It also provides a Web-based setup program for users who don't want to edit files directly. BASE builds on the code of the Analysis Console for Intrusion Databases (ACID) project.
