MySQL 5.0.37

One of the world's most popular open source databases, MySQL Server gives corporate developers, DBAs, (Database Administrators) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) an array of new enterprise features to increase their productivity whether they are developing, deploying, or managing industrial strength applications.

MySQL Server combines enterprise grade reliability and performance with advanced SQL 2003 features, making it the most cost-effective database solution for your business critical applications.

License Notes:
MySQL is licensed under multiple license options: GPL v2; GPL v2 with a FLOSS exception; and a couple paid or commercial options. See http://www.mysql.com/about/legal/licensing/index.html for an explanation and more information about each option.

The MySQL Server database earned its popularity by being fast, easy to use and delivering consistently reliable performance. Installed in more than 10 million projects ranging from large corporations to specialized embedded applications, MySQL Server has a presence on every continent in the world (including Antarctica).
MySQL Server has also become the database of choice for a new generation of applications built on the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP / Perl / Python). Finally, it runs on more than 20 platforms (including Linux, Windows, OS/X, HP-UX, AIX and Netware), giving you a lot of flexibility.

MySQL is a registered trademark of Oracle Corporation. OpenLogic is not affiliated with Oracle.

Primarily a bug fix release, Version 5.0.37 makes two changes that can cause incompatibilities with previous versions. First, the DATE_FORMAT() function now returns a string with a character set instead of a binary string. Second, ENUM columns no longer store commas as a 0xff. Because of this, if you use any tables with true 0xff values you need to use mysqldump with the current server before upgrading from an older version of MySQL Server. The release notes provide more detail on how to do this.
Additionally, the LockPagesInMemory configuration parameter has been changed to using 0 for false, 1 for true, and 2 for new functionality.
